Phase 1 Project Elements
Bosque Water Reclamation Facility (Bosque WRF) includes:
- Interceptor Flow Splitter
- Bosque WRF 10 million gallons per day (mgd) treatment capacity
- Vegetated conveyance to Rio Grande
Phase 1 Construction of the Bosque Water Reclamation Facility includes:
Treatment – Initially up to 5 million gallons per day (mgd) of collection water will be treated using membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology and other processes for non-potable beneficial reuse.
Buildings – Buildings in the Bosque WRF will be designed in a low profile, architectural style to blend into the surrounding landscape and community. The buildings will enclose all major treatment processes to mitigate sound impact to the surroundings.
Landscaping – New desert-friendly plantings will be installed to provide an aesthetically pleasing perimeter around the Bosque WRF. These plantings will include plants, trees, and shrubs to align with the existing landscaping of the surrounding community.
Vegetated Conveyance – The project will include a new nature-based conveyance channel that will help protect and enhance the bosque habitat by returning treated water to the Rio Grande.
