Noted as a Portfolio 1 Priority in the Water Authority’s Water 2120 100 Year Water Resources Management Plan, this program takes a proactive approach to water resource management by:

  • Icons-03

Maintaining capacity within existing interceptor infrastructure

  • Reducing drinking water consumption for non-potable (non-drinking water) uses

  • Icons-02

Producing high-quality non-potable water for river discharge

The project’s facilities will achieve technical objectives and serve as an opportunity to learn about water resource management.

The facilities will incorporate state-of-the-art technology and processes to operate reliably, blend into the surroundings, and reflect community values and traditions.

Implementation Stage 1
Construction of the Bosque Water Reclamation Facility infrastructure for 10 mgd build-out treatment capacity and initially equip it to treat 5 mgd. The additional build-out equipment to treat 10 mgd will be incorporated based on system needs and budget capacity.

Implementation Stage 2
Design and construction of a reuse distribution system to include reuse conveyance piping, pump stations, etc. to allow the Water Authority to deliver reuse to parks, golf courses, and other large irrigation water users. This stage of the program may be implemented at any time, depending on budget capacity and/or external funding.
